The Lonely Flower In A Vase

THAT LONELY FLOWER IN A VASE

It stood firm , in colour violet
Alone in vase, in stalk thick green .
That doesn’t mean,
If alone it’s seen.
“It isn’t lonely. “
It blooms bright,
looking left and right,
Seeking for a companion in flower,
decides to stand however.

Every time I see,
it smirks at me,
Laughing at my gloomy profile.
Weird I feel.
Encircled in people,
Why do I juggle to struggle?
Alone I am not,
A lesson ,the flower taught.

It isn’t looking for a partner,
It is there to teach,
To illuminate the dark,
where I don’t reach.

A quaint cafe setting featuring a table with a glass vase and red dahlia, with a city street view.
