A small house party,
at my friend’s big house,
to arrange a meet for fun.
I too was asked for my presence.
Dressed in a fine, black sober dress,
I entered at 7 P.M.
Bit conscious, bit uncomfortable,
Pulling my dress to the level.
All I could see was, glittering lights,
focusing on women in bold reveal,
and handsome men, warm-too warm to resist.
It was a tiny lawn, with a pool beside,
back of the residence,
A live band stood,
With most of the “Beatles ” of 60s.
What served was,
scotch, tequila, red wine,
all high end brand in a line.
I too was one of them,
With a glass of drink in my hand.
I gazed at the glamorous party.
All danced, mostly in couples,
That too got shuffled,
in between.
The most happening site I had ever seen.
Dinner remained in it’s pristine state,
No one in rush.
Though It was midnight, already.
Unwillingly, I had to leave.
I came home hungry.
But that didn’t really annoy .
I wanted to attend till the end,
like any other girl or boy.
