HEERAMANDI

        HEERAMANDI

The red embroidered heavy lehenga,
firoza deep neck blouse,
revealing maximum skin,
transparent dupatta with a rim,
colour aquamarine.
The diamond nose ring,
suspending over the lusty lips.
Erroneous word to say,
cumpulsion to be that way,
Captivating eyes ,
with imprisoned dreams .
Mastered in music and dance,
wasn’t allowed to scream,
only, within the walls of ‘Hira Mandi’.

The epitome of culture and sophistication,
the nawabs were trained by the courtesans.
Bringing down the cultural heritage,
Depth music and dance in knowledge.
When she performed to be surrendered.
Not by will, on paying the bill.
To be sold for gold.
The nights of entertainment.
‘Mujra’ to mesmerise,
combination of ‘Nabeez’.
Turning men , riches to rag.
Youth or old, any age gap.
A bitter crap
The truth still dragged.
