Once upon a time,
the dirt road ,was spaced out,
people sharing few vehicles,
leading towards town.
Plants and trees ,
had ample of space.
they spread their wings,
now, cannot be traced.
Nature’s gift was pure bliss,
through rain, clouds and sunshine.
barefeet people ran ,to be rewarded first,
lest, nature’s performance would decline.
No platforms, no competitions,
no desire to top the world.
Children were not sophisticated,
played on the soil of the earth.
The courtyard was the place to assemble,
home remedies were prioritized,
folks woke up before sunrise,
were fit and healthy , even if oversized.
The lanes were the playground,
the schools were under the tree shade,
the eldest’s decision was dernier ,
their computation was so accurate.
Children were treated with harsh punishments,
people worked for long hours.
Water was refine without any filter.
Pickles were preserved in big jars.
Mornings were busy,
evenings were easy.
Once upon a time,
life was so different ,
lifetime people worked,
there was no age for retirement.
